Thread: finding competent collaborators

I know I can use the public access tv station to make money and spread a message to people. I want to create a website, make many shows, and become successful.

Slight problem, I'm not good at computer editing. I have a friend, who also does stuff at public access, he's great at the computer stuff like editing. I've let him know I want him to design the website and edit my vids but he keeps making excuses. I know he wants me to learn to do it on my own but I need a team of competent individuals who I can delegate to. How do I diplomatically negotiate with him what I need done as well as deciding how much to pay him. I can get him cheap but if he's unwilling to cooperate or too busy with his own projects to do what I need him to do then how do I create a team. Cuz me doing this all by myself is a bad strategy.

Contact the T-Comm department at your local university. There are always students, with the latest knowlegde and skills looking for items to add to their portfolio. They will often do it for free or very cheap as long as they can add it to their resume. Out of curiosity what message are you trying to spread?

How do we get to put an "I" in the word team becuase contrary to popular opinion I say it CAN be done but its not easy,

How many times do you count I?
Where is the part that describes EXACTLY what your friend wants?
Is it money? Is it his time? Is it something else? What is in it for him?

Notice you assumed money...

Could it be he wants something more than money?
Could it be that he wants his time more than he wants money?

IN short I believe it IS possible to put the letter I in the word TEAM
but it is not easy BECAUSE it is NOT our "I".....
it is all about THEIR "I"

The trick is to break away long enough from our I to see it.
This is almost impossible to do for most.
